The fall fundraiser was a huge success. Thanks again for you continuing support!
As expected, corporate giving to non-profits was down in the first quarter of 2009. Board and staff are committed to working twice as hard on fundraising this year so that we have the ‘matching fund’ requirements of our contracts. There will be no reduction in programming. In fact, we hope to be positioned to expand some programs this year to match growing needs in the community and as more government money becomes available. Yes, we can!
The Housing Crisis Center and other participating non-profits have been presented with what might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rebound from our slow fundraising start. The Communities Foundation of Texas and The Dallas Foundation established a first-ever Dallas Giving Day May 20th. On that day, all online public donations of $25 to $2500 made via a credit card will be matched dollar for dollar.
And so we are asking our friends to help by making an early donation in 2009, which will double the amount we receive. Please submit your donation to DonorBridge on May 20!

If you can’t take advantage of the May 20th opportunity, you can: send us names of potential donors to contact, host a small get-together where we can tell our story, or do whatever you think might help inform or attract people who would assist us if they knew about our needs and successes.
