Our time-limited program for newly homeless families is called Home Again. Participants can be in the program for a maximum of months if continuous progress is being made toward their goals. During that time they receive rent and utilities subsidies, as well as the intensive case management services they need to find stable employment and develop the skills necessary to remain self-sufficient.
The goal is to stabilize homeless families in decent, safe, and affordable permanent housing, while providing support services necessary to help resolve the underlying circumstances that may have contributed to their housing problems. Home Again remove the financial barriers to housing, allowing breadwinners to focus on getting back on their feet. Families are safely housed and can choose the neighborhood, allowing kids to remain in school and providing continuity.
Clients contribute 30% of their household adjusted gross income (AGI) towards their monthly rent portion. The lease is in the clients’ name. Client learn“Responsible Tenant Behavior,” and with the help of their case manager identify barriers to remaining housed and work to overcome them. Our Empowerment, Employment and Financial education programs are consistently effective in helping people learn how to address their current and future problems and take steps to resolve them.
